The Essence of Humidifier Filters

Winter can cause the air to dry up and later lead to a lot of problems such as having dry skin, nosebleeds, peeling of your wallpaper, and even cracked paint. To be able to fix the damage, one can exert an effort to take in control of the humidity of aair inside the house and later eliminate the risk of having some health problems and other house damages. A lot of people opt for humidifiers to solve this problem. A humidifier functions by sending out water in the air in the form of vapor, thus in ceasing the humidity of the surrounding to a comfortable and desired level of coolness and moisture. To be able to experience the optimum health and comfort, the level of humidity must not go beyond 30 to 50%. A humidity that is lesser than that will cause your mucous membrane to dry out and a humidity higher than that will trigger bacterial and molds growth.

There are two kinds of technologies that drives the humidifiers; these are the cool mist and the warm mist. In the cool mist, commonly called evaporate humidifiers, the water or the liquid is being blown through the wick filter and released into the air. A humidifier filter is used to filter the impurities and other bacteria found in the water.

The problem with having a humidifier comes when people fails to abide to the instructions given by the manufacturers on how to take care of the filters. The humidifier filters must be changed and cleaned in a regular basis. Generally, filters are to be changed every 4 to 6 weeks, however, you still need to check out the instruction in every humidifier because changing instructions may vary from one model to another. If you fail to clean or change your filter, you are triggering the growth of bacteria, harmful molds, dust mites, mildew and some other impurities. These impurities will no longer be filters and it will be released to the air causing more threat to your health.

In buying a replacement filter, always go for the good brands rather than the generic ones. Even though the generic brands are much cheaper, the quality and the efficacy is often sacrificed. Always make sure that your filter works well to ensure that the air that you breathe is fresh and free of impurities. A good humidifier filter can last for a long time by just merely cleaning it and you will be assured that you made the right choice in buying.
