Cool and Warm Mist Humidifiers

Mist humidifiers can easily make a home more comfortable and healthful. Humidifiers in general are machines that increase the moisture in the air. Mist humidifiers are only one kind of humidifier and can help a person through allergic reactions or asthma. There are even two types of this humidifier. Your physician will usually inform you which kind would be more helpful to you.

The first kind of mist humidifier is the vaporizer or the steam humidifier. This kind of mist humidifier boils water and can have medicine added to it to make the air more healthful. The effect of this is to create a sort of purified air for you to breathe as it similar to a loose spray of water. Vaporizers are for people who stay in warm rooms as it may make it easier to breathe in those rooms. The only unfortunate issue with this kind of mist humidifier is that the warm air can promote bacteria in the unit and thus, should be cleaned regularly.

The other kind, the cool mist humidifier, generally creates more of a ruckus, though more expensive or more modern models have a silent running option. They work by expelling a vapor and generally lowering room the room temperature. Size of each unit can vary, as some larger units can even be installed to apply to an entire home. While the vaporizer’s temperature induces bacteria, the cool mist humidifier is by no means exempted from this. It still requires regular maintenance and cleaning to make sure that no infections fester. Filters also need to be cleaned and occasionally replaced to make sure that the machine performs as expected.

Humidifiers of all kinds can be beneficial to a person if they suffer from a dry cough or sinus problems, among other things. This is also useful for house maintenance, as a house filled with dry air can create a lot of static electricity and can ruin wooden objects. There are devices out there, called hygrometers, that can help you determine whether or not you should purchase a mist humidifier. Generally, most people agree that a healthy amount of humidity hovers around forty percent. Musicians in particular should make sure that there is enough humidity where they store their instruments as the wrong percentage can lead to wear and tear. Too much water in the air on the other hand, can cause mold and various bacteria to form, which can cause more health problems.
