Humidifiers are becoming an important home appliance unit that conserve the conditions of home furnishings and also most importantly provide healthy benefits of delivering fresh and clean air to breath into the surroundings.

There are basically two types of humidifier units available namely the cool and warm mist humidifiers. The warm mist humidifiers are considered to be less often recommended because of the risk of burn but modern warm mist humidifiers now come with some safety features that prevent the possible risk of burn to its users.

Warm mist humidifiers are known for its capacity to provide warmer environment that allows its users to turn down the thermostat a little lower without the experience of feeling cold. There are also some helpful benefits for using the warm mist humidifiers one of which is due to its heating system that boils the water being used before its expulsion into the air which kills the presence of bacteria. Such process eradicates the need for a filter which reflects a lower maintenance cost to spend when using warm mist humidifiers.

Warm mist humidifiers however require more energy consumption due to its heating system which often offsets the benefits of using warm mist humidifiers over using other types of humidifiers.

A mineral absorption pad is also used in some warm mist humidifier models to collect the mineral deposits as residues after boiling the water. Users of warm mist humidifiers are always cautioned against its use in children’s room which increases the risk of burns in curious children.

The humidifying action of warm mist humidifiers includes a heating element that heats the water on the humidifier tank before dispersing air into the environment. It however reduces the need for using filter pads as the heating effect in warm mist humidifiers are good enough to kill the bacteria and other water impurities thus it no longer need the use of filter pads to trap the impurities that the water may have left behind.

The heating system used in operating the warm mist humidifier is mainly responsible why the appliance is more costly and expensive to operate. In addition to the risk of burns when using the warm mist humidifier and the costly operation involved to run the machine the warm mist humidifiers are less recommended especially for children’s use. On the other hand its less maintenance benefits and germ killing action of the appliance’s heating system also give good reasons for buyers to prefer using the warm mist humidifiers.

The choice of buying the warm mist humidifier units is a matter of personal preference and it is most conveniently used in places with colder climates where the warm mist humidifier offers better comfort in breathing.
